In 1864, Louis Kaufman came to the United States at the age of 16.

Louis Kaufman made his first money in mining.

Louis Kaufman  invested his mining earnings in the Helena Meat Company. 

Later, he and his partner, Louis Stadler, owned the stockyard for 61 years.

Louis Kaufman was a Mason.

 

Louis Kaufman died in Montana in 1933.

He is buried at the Home of Peace Cemetery in Helena, Montana.
